Every year, more than 8 million tons of plastic bottles end up in our oceans. Each one of these bottles take up to 1,000 years to decompose.  At this rate, it is estimated that in 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the sea. 

The main objective of creating our Eco Bottle is to create a portable water purifier to reduce the consumption of plastic bottles that lead to the pollution of our planet and oceans. Through an ozone generation mechanism, this bottle injects ozone to the water eliminating 99.9% of harmful bacteria and viruses and allowing you to enjoy drinking water from any natural or tap water source (excluding salt water).

Our Eco Bottle takes advantage of the properties of ozone as a disinfectant and bactericide, to eliminate harmful bacteria and viruses such as E-Coli, Rotavirus and Polio Virus 1 commonly found in water. Dissolved in water, ozone is completely harmless to human health, since its action on organic matter and high volatility causes it to disappear in a few seconds.

Aside from being reusable, the CoolDot Ozeanic Eco Bottle is made with Tritan, a material that is not harmful to health, free of BPA and BPS, unbreakable and durable. It does not require any filters, it uses a  rechargeable lithium battery (each recharge lasts approximately 7 days).

How does Ozone work?

Ozone is one of nature’s most powerful oxidizers. When released into water, ozone starts oxidizing organic material in the membrane of bacteria and viruses weakening their cells until it has eliminated them completely. It stands out for being highly efficient as a bactericide, viricide and fungicide, destroying streptococci, staphylococci, colibacilli and other bacteria very quickly. In the same way, ozone water treatment has proven to be very useful in eliminating other contaminants found in water such as copper, iron, and manganese and at the same time removing bad tastes and odors.

The bottle contains a high-tech electronic circuit that activates when pressing the button on the cap*, allowing the purification system run for one minute. With one press (1 minute) odors and bad tastes are removed, and with three presses (3 minutes) 99.9% of bacteria and viruses are eliminated. When it finishes bubbling, you must wait 5 minutes and you can now enjoy your disinfected and ready-to-drink water. *Important: When activating the ozone, always remove the drinking cap.

In Spain, Ozone is approved by the Royal Decree 140/2003, which establishes the sanitary criteria for the quality of water for human consumption, includes ozone as a substance for water treatment, since it complies with the corresponding UNE-EN standards (included in Annex II of the RD, UNE-EN standards for substances used in the treatment of water for human consumption: UNE-EN 1278: 1999 – Ozone).
